Mathias earned a Business Administration degree at University of Mannheim (Germany’s top business school) with majors in Human Resources, Organizational Development and Employment Law. He then attended the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles for 2 semesters taking MBA classes in Management Consulting, Business Communications, Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior.
Mathias started his career in Human Resources with Deutsche Lufthansa where he worked in Recruiting, Talent Management and Executive Counseling.
At the end of 1992 he joined Kestria Germany: Friedrichs & Partner as senior consultant conducting management audits in Eastern Germany. In 1993 Mathias changed to Executive Search with Kestria Germany where he took over as Managing Director and majority shareholder of the company in 1994. His client base includes multinationals and major German industrial firms in automotive, chemical, machine building, steel and metal, plastics, electronics, high tech, FMCG and retail.
